Small-Cap Miner Redstone Bets Big on Copper Boom

If you’ve been watching the global push toward clean energy, you already know that copper is everywhere. It runs through electric cars, renewable grids, and pretty much every wire that keeps the electrification story alive. But here’s the catch.

Supply isn’t keeping up. Major producers continue to warn about deficits, as discoveries are becoming increasingly harder to find, and ore grades are declining.

That squeeze is why copper prices in 2025 are already running hot, with forecasts from Goldman Sachs and Benchmark Minerals pointing to levels above $12,000 per ton.

For small-cap mining stocks, that setup is huge. Investors looking for leverage to the copper story are starting to move away from mega caps and eyeing smaller explorers who could deliver outsized gains if their bets pay off.

Copper Buzz Puts Redstone in Spotlight

One name catching attention right now is Redstone Resources (RDS). It’s a micro-cap explorer, but it owns 100% of the Tollu Copper Project in the West Musgrave district of Western Australia. This region is no small player; it’s the same mining province where BHP’s Nebo-Babel deposit sits just 60 kilometres away.

Tollu is already known for high-grade copper veins, and recent deep drilling is testing if the deposit stretches even further below the surface.

Early results have shown grades like 8 meters at 4.1% copper and even a one-meter stretch hitting an eye-popping 18.5%.

Investors are waiting for fresh assays that could confirm whether the system looks like Canada’s famous Voisey’s Bay-style deposit. If that comes true, Tollu could get a major re-rating.

The project’s location is also a big plus. It’s near emerging infrastructure and other operating mines, which could make it attractive for partnerships or even acquisition if results keep improving.

Next 12 Months Decide Redstone’s Fate

So what’s ahead? Redstone’s to-do list is packed. Pending assay results, updated drill targeting using geophysics, a follow-up drilling program, and even potential JV or funding deals could all hit in the next year. For a company this small, any one of those catalysts could move the stock in a big way.

Leadership also matters here. Chairman Richard Homsany brings two decades of experience across mining, law, and finance, and has previously held senior roles in uranium and energy companies.

That kind of background could help steer Redstone through the tricky phase of scaling up without heavy shareholder dilution.

In simple terms, Redstone Resources gives investors a speculative but high-upside way to play the copper crunch.

The demand story is strong, the supply side looks weak, and with copper at the centre of the electrification boom, small explorers like RDS could be in the right place at the right time.
